Terms of Use
Last updated
These terms are a contract between you and Junto ("Junto", "we"). By creating an account or using letsjunto.com or the Junto apps, you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service.
You must be 18 or older, and legally able to enter a contract.
What Junto is
Junto is a platform where people post projects with open roles, discover each other, agree terms, and work together. We provide the introduction, the record and the workspace.
We are not a party to anything you agree with another member. This is a record of mutual intent between collaborators. Junto is not a party to this agreement and does not provide legal advice. Consult a lawyer for enforceable contracts.
We are not an employer, an employment agency, a broker, an investment adviser, a securities intermediary or an escrow agent. We do not verify that a project is real, that a person can do what they claim, that equity described in a listing exists or will ever be issued, or that anyone will honour what they signed. Judgement about who to work with is yours.
Your account
One account per person. Represent yourself accurately — the whole system depends on it. Keep your Google account secure; anything done through your session is treated as done by you.
You are responsible for everything you post, send and sign.
What you may not do
Some of these are legal requirements. All of them are conditions of using the service.
- Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your identity, experience, credentials or affiliations.
- Post a role, equity split or payment you have no intention or ability to honour.
- Harass, threaten, defame or discriminate against anyone.
- Post content that is unlawful, infringing, sexually explicit, or that reveals someone else’s personal information without their consent.
- Use the platform to solicit for a scheme, a chain referral, an unregistered securities offering, or any other fraud.
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract member data, or use the service to build a competing dataset. Public does not mean harvestable.
- Circumvent rate limits, quotas, moderation or access controls, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without written permission.
- Upload malware, or anything designed to disrupt the service or another member’s device.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for display, and publicly show that content, solely to operate and promote the service. The licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies already distributed and the retained records described in the Privacy Policy.
Do not post anything you do not have the right to post. If you upload an image, you are confirming you may use it.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaches these terms, and we do not have to warn you first if the breach is serious.
Agreements between members
When you sign a role agreement, you type your full legal name and we record it with a cryptographic hash and a timestamp. That record is what both parties can later point to.
It binds you to the other person, not to Junto. Enforcement, disputes, termination and any remedy are between the parties. We may provide the record on request where it is properly required, and we may retain it after either party leaves.
Equity described in a listing or agreement is a statement of intent by the person offering it. Issuing it is a matter of company law, shareholder approval and paperwork that happens off this platform. Get a lawyer before you rely on it.
Payments
Where the service charges — for example for a paid feature, a mentor session or a venture programme — the price is shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Razorpay; your card details never reach us.
Amounts are in Indian Rupees and inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated. Refunds, where offered, are stated at the point of purchase.
Money that moves directly between members, including anything held in a project treasury, is subject to the arrangement those members made. Junto is not a bank, does not hold client money, and is not responsible for a member who does not pay another member.
Safety and moderation
You can report a person, a project or a message. We review reports and may warn, restrict, suspend or ban. We aim to be proportionate, but the decision is ours.
We may also suspend or remove an account to protect other members or to comply with law, without prior notice where the risk warrants it.
Availability
The service is provided as-is and as-available. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular result — a match, a hire, a cofounder, funding — will follow from using it.
We may change, suspend or discontinue features. Where a change is material and adverse, we will give notice where reasonably possible.
Liability
To the fullest extent Indian law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost opportunity, lost data, lost equity, or the conduct of any other member.
Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Junto in the twelve months before the claim, or ₹5,000.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Indemnity
You will indemnify Junto against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your content, your breach of these terms, or your dealings with another member.
Ending it
You may delete your account at any time from your account page. We may terminate or suspend your access for a breach of these terms, or where required by law.
The sections that should survive termination do: content licences already exercised, agreement records, payment records, liability limits and indemnity.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, India have exclusive jurisdiction, and you and we submit to it.
